“If you would be pungent, be brief; for it is as with words as with sunbeams. The more they are condensed, the deeper they burn.” – Robert Southey

For reasons I cannot fathom,
Almost every human I meet
Seems determined
To make themselves unhappy
Even though almost everything I see
In the ancient, endless Earth
Is a testament
To happiness
And I suppose that is why
I cannot stand people
For I am a human
And if I forget,
I am that way, too.
