Your Shadow

Always watching, always lurking,
Following you around.
You turn around to see him,
And he hides upon the ground.
He may be taller than you.
He may be shorter than me.
He is always there around you,
Waiting to be seen.
He may be there in front of you,
Or even right beside.
Because he is your shadow,
There is no place for him to hide.
A void of inky blackness,
Swallowing all the light.
You can change your shadow,
But only if you do it right.
A friend to last forever,
He will always be around.
Even though sometimes,
He is hard to be found.
