May I be a nightmare
For those who try and disturb
Peaceful dreams

May I be a demon
For those who seek to disrupt
The work of angels

May I be the wrath of God
For those who work for
The devil

May I choose Death
Before
Dishonor

May I choose Virtue
Over
Vice

May I choose solitude
Over
Unrighteous company

When sins tempt and lie
May I remain
Faithful and true

When evil reigns
May I remain
A rebel

When my flesh longs for comfort
May my soul remain
Willing to sacrifice

May I always fight
May I never quit

May I always bring honor
May I never bring shame

May I die with my dignity
May I never live in disgrace

May God protect me

May God protect my family

May God hear my prayer

May God hear theirs

May God bring me home to them

May God bring us all home to Heaven.

The author's comments:
Inspired by my brothers and father for their service. Wanted to capture the mission and virtues of those who are willing to lay down their lives for their country.
