Love Letter
Dear Buddy,
How are you?
It was snowing. But before that,
I saw a heart,
Dried on the concrete.
Water smeared around it,
I thought of you,
You wouldn’t have noticed it, unless I pointed it out.
Your eyes would be too hazed in that
Library mind of yours.
But then I wouldn’t have noticed,
Too busy staring into the endless hole of mystery
You present.
If I said I love you,
You would check the shelves in that brain
For the perfect answer.
But accidentally spill words out.
I wouldn’t mind.
They would be sweet as chocolate milk,
Just like you.
That’s why I would say
I love you.
Truly in love,
me
