"Through the thick gloom of the present I see the brightness of the future." -Daniel Webster

As I Pass By, the Sea, the Sky
I see a Smile; must you ask Why?
I move along those racing Cars
I gaze and gaze upon glistening Stars
I walk a long ten thousand Miles
High as the clouds, I see A Smile

Ferocious Smile wont let me Be!
The awe and suspense such a Mystery
Questions arise a smile of love or hate?
Consistent haunting is one so great!
Dark shadows begin to formulate a Hoax
Oh the cries of mercy I now Coax
I see a smile which Burns like Coal
Oh, Tenacious Smile Spare My Soul!

Had to write this poem after I realized I was thinking about a failed relationship of the past. Can anyone relate?
