Who I Trick

January 21, 2012

A cheater she once said was I
A honeycomb stealer
A paperback dealer
And accused of tricking death

Who? I?
If a honeycomb stealer
I am glazed in rich
Golden money in which
I bathe

Who? I?
If a paperback dealer
I took your words
Set fire to your herds
Of thought
And watched as they burned

If I bathe in money
And I steal your honey
If I burn your words
Set fire to your herds
Than surely,
I have tricked not death
But myself
