Skin glimmers in the
radiant sunlight
at noon.
Bronzed from
reflection at sea.
Sand digs into the
body, trying to
escape from the heat.
Sleep overwhelms you,
taking over,
drifting deep into
sleep.
You dream that
you are elsewhere.
Complete opposite
of how you feel.
Heat turns to cold,
no sun but moonlight.
Instead of sand
grass brushes against
your sides.
Simplicity of dreams
can take you far away
from what truly is.
But soon you will
have to wake back up
to reality.
