If silence is loud
then my heartbeat is louder

A sunny day caught in a giant storm
Tears turn to waterfalls

The lights are on in all of us
but nobody is home

If the sudden news could kill
then view me as a corpse

One small ripple of light
breaks through the lingering darkness

It's never goodbye, but a see you later

The author's comments:
I was inspired to write this poem after a much loved teacher passed away. He will be dearly missed. As I've heard before, it's not goodbye only a see you later.
