Hate Rant

By
More by this author
I hate a lot of things.
When the bottoms of my jeans are wet,
When doors are half open,
When people fake laugh
When people fake laugh because they don't think my jokes are as funny as I do
Oranges, Orange juice, the color orange, Home Depot.
Lies,
The smell of day old water bottles,
Chalkboards,
Exercising,
Spelling the word definitely,
Tampon commercials,
Calculus,
Admitting I'm wrong,
Tomatoes,
Touch screen phones,
Sharing food,
Running,
Milk Chocolate,
Monkeys,
Clowns,
Taxidermy animals,
Bad books,
Insects,
Swimming with fish,
Nickels,
Humidity,
Filtered Water,
Bad grammar,
Odd numbers...
But I hate this most of all.
Saying goodbye is not a plan I am satisfied with,
But miles are still miles,
and The calendar is etched in seasons.
And as the last short three peel away from the world,
like the sunburn I'll undoubtedly get
I can't help feeling that hating all those things,
is absolutely nothing
compared to the all consuming loathing I have
for a future I can't help but travel toward.
