midnight

Midnight comes but once a day
and at that time the day does turn
frome the moon’s light
to the warm sun’s might
all at that time
named midnight.

The sun slacks off
at twelve o’clock
and waits until its six
before it rises, stretches, kicks
and spreds it’s yellow light.

Great poem, you make your writer very in the moment. Reading this was like being on my porch as midnight struck. Great job!

What inspired you to write this?

I wrote this one night when I realized how even though midnight signifies the newest day, the sun doesnt rise until six. It was a sleepless night, ao I wrote this poem and another called sunrise, but this one is so much better
