Wait... Then Breathe.

Wait for the wind to free you of its nip
Wait for the sun to push away the clouds
Wait for the minute hand to finally slip
Wait for the moment to finally pass
Wait for the children to finish make-believe
Wait for as long as you can and then
Breathe.

When you're waiting for tomorrow
It never comes
The time you've borrowed returns grudgingly
Life can be summed up with one
Persistent word: waiting

You're waiting for something
You're waiting for life
You're waiting for nothing
You're waiting for what will suffice
You're waiting for inspiration
You're waiting for a muse
You're waiting for that guy to finally take a clue
You're waiting for Taylor Swift's latest CD
You're waiting for the day you'll finally find your me
You're waiting.

The process can kill and trust me
It will
Casualties are plenty prisoners spare
Waiting to just get there
To that moment that glorious time
In your life when you think
Things will be alright
Without irony or bitterness as an edge

Wait for the blue-jays to finish their song
Wait to be right even when you're wrong
Wait for the night then wait for the day
Wait for the time things'll be okay
Wait until it's so frustrating...
Take a breather then wait again.

Wait for winter wait for fall
Wait for spring then wait for summer
Wait because that's all you have to do
Wait, it won't kill you.

Wait for the world to free you of its nip
Wait for the sun to push away the clouds
Wait for the minute hand to finally slip
Wait for the moment to finally pass
Wait for the children to finish make-believe
Wait for as long as you can and then...
Breathe.
