Twas when I heard the fury Noise
Dwelt upon me a treacherous Voice
With me, thou tried to Coax
Inconspicuous motives, obscure like a Hoax
For He is Heathen as a Pagan
Deep within lye's insidious Satan!
A hand he deceived to lend and Send
A Fiend!, A Devil!, he transcends!

Very interesting, but I can't help wondering if this poem shares any reference to the Furies in Greek mythology.
