Favorite Quote:
Always fall in with what you're asked to accept. Take what is given, and make it over your way. My aim in life has always been to hold my own with whatever's going. Not against: with.

Escaping into relaxation
Consuming cocktails
Drinking judgement
For a few days, at least
Workaholic
At first sip,
Second sip,
needed to recommit
For me,
Endless variations
Of drinks
Become classics
Of their own
Completely “perfect”
To an alcoholic
Who drinks up
‘Til the last sip
Taken down

The author's comments:
This poem is NOT about alcohol, actually. It is a blackout poem, if anyone knows what that is. It's where you take a piece of writing (magazine, newspaper, etc.) and blackout words you don't want until you find your poem within the text. My article was about a man who was a recovering alcoholic who got "better" by immersing himself in food, and he ended up becoming a food critic. This is his "story".
