The Water-Colored Fence

I never left your sight
But I never let you win
With a perfect looking pattern
Etched across my imperfect skin
Because I spend my time
Hiding imperfections
And I’m so sick of it
I’m ready to blossom
In ways that you never did
And when we laugh about the music
And replay it in our minds
I’ll never stop to take a chance
That I could never find
Let’s leave the perfect for the flawless
And the actions for the flawed
Join the revolution
Started without a single cause
Because a battered billowed sign
Is better than a water-colored fence
Protecting the heartless
From a second chance
So join hands in a flavor
We will never mind
Because life was meant for living
And I refuse to cry
Over it.
