"I Come From Basketball"

I come from Linden,
I come from the court,
I come from the 3 point line cause basketball’s my sport.

Makes me wanna jump,
Throw the alley to Kev.
He’ll finish this off
With a windmill dunk.

CLAP, CLAP, that’s when I call for the ball
Give it to me on the wing
That’s where you take your fall.

Freshman team on the rise, we 10-0
Omari, Brett, and Eli all laced up and ready to go
We play fast but under control
100% from the free throw
Last buzz, game over 58 – 0.

Congratulations on getting your work accepted on-line! I particularly like the stanza that reads: "CLAP, CLAP, that's when I call for the ball/Give it to me on the wing/That's where you take your fall." The rhyming really makes this poem move fast and smooth, like a winning game. Keep writing!
