My dearest friend
And closest brother
We always depend
On one another

Perhaps you know
Of maybe you’ve heard
The winds that blow
Appear undeterred

Opportunities beseech
With every turn
This golden beach
Will leave a burn

You know you must leave
And strand me here
This pain will deceive
The kindest ear

Stay strong in your ways,
Firm in thine heart
This temporary maze
Will keep us apart.

A very close friend of mine is going off to college soon, and this is my goodbye.
