The Song Remains the Same
I came home to everyone crying,
My mom's face was red and blotchy,
My little sister was in hysterics,
I didn't think my older sister could produce that many tears,
And my dad was crying for the first time I've seen.
We went inside and saw his body.
He wasn't much older than me,
But now he's gone.
He's been there for me,
Ever since I could remember.
"I'll never forget you," I say,
To the dog
That helped me through everything.
