Month’s spent doing nothing different

always the same running

fighting winning losing,

always the same.

Every night I wander

Looking for the fallen

I find them and bury in the day

one of 320,518 buried

who knows how

many more?

Some day’s I wish to join

them in endless

peace but

“Over There”

is in my heart keeping

me strong.

I hear back home my wife

is live

doing my job and running the

house amazing.

They bomb us

blind us from

gas in the

sky

I wait for the moment

my world will die

but I stay alive.

Fighting back tears

my foot is gone buried in

the dirt that killed it

something I’ll never forget.

Here I lie

as I wait to join

my comrades,

and die.
