Where Are You
Restless on earth
you fought
strong and mighty,
but couldn’t overcome
the beast inside.
You now reside in
the misty sky
and rise in
the reflection of the sun
on the cool morning dew.
You’re not here,
but in the horizon.
Your love is still
present, but
unpronounced.
I miss your presence.
I can still feel
the brush of your lips
on my cheek,
your arms squeezing
around my
tweleve year old body,
your love surrounding me.
It hasn’t departed,
but you did.
I just don’t know
where so I
assume it’s
somewhere beautiful;
I look for you now in
the morning sky.
