I am from
I am from September 11th, born on a day that will never be forgotten,
I am from the end of the last millennium,
I am from a time when the country elected the first black president.

I am from a suitcase devoid of clothes but overflowing with stuffed animals,
I am from fabulous stories of imaginary worlds,
I am from a world of make believed filled with Disney Princesses.

I am from sledding down huge hill in my back yard trying to avoid crashing into trees,
I am from building forts in the wood and with the cushions on our couch,
I am from long power walks on hot summer days.

I am from building and feasting on a tower of different cereals,
I am from the sweet flavor of homemade ice-cream,
I am from healthy protein shakes to start the day.

I am from a world were “Silence is golden, but duct tape is silver”,
From “watch it grace” every time I stumble, and “Turn the freaking lights off” when I leave the room,
I am from “All and all, I think it was a pretty good day” every night.

I am from staring at the sky and making shapes out of clouds,
From, chalk drawings that fill our whole driveway,
And having Silly String wars, whose remnants are still visible after days.

I am from all over the world,
From cruises to Alaska and the Caribbean,
And never-ending flights to Australia.

I am from 16 cousins, and 13 aunts and uncles,
I am from a small family of 4,
I am from a group of friends, whom I love like sisters.

I am from fireworks on the Fourth of July,
From, catching fireflies and watching them glow before they fly away,
I am from huge family parties.

I am from a from a family who sticks together when times get rough,
I am from the decisions I have made,
I am from the countless generations, who have come before me.
