I am no stranger to butterflies,
that fly through the space where the stomach resides.
I am no stranger to the smile that they leave,
that makes you a dreamer, and makes you believe.

I am no stranger to the changing tides,
that course through the space where the heart resides.
I am no stranger to the toll that they take;
they rack and they ruin, they baffle and break.

I am no stranger to the Jekyll and Hyde,
that sit on each space where the shoulders reside.
I am no stranger to the fork in the road;
one path of ice and one path of snow.

But, I am no stranger to the rising sun,
that everyday takes it's seat on the horizon,
I am no stranger to the hope that I feel,
a heart can be strong, a heart can be healed.

The author's comments:
I hope this piece shows people that nobody is stranger to heartbreak, any type of heartbreak. And I know it sounds cliche, but hearts do heal and there is always hope.
