Butterflies in my stomach
My head slightly cloudy
Something new is about to happen
Something new is coming my way
There’s a feeling in the air
Something I can’t quite catch
But I know it exists

I noticed the date
May 30th 2012
It can’t be,
But could it be
Its graduation day
It’s time to walk across that stage
Close this chapter and prepare for another

Through the struggle of finishing these pages
Making happy endings from sad beginnings
I understand it was all worth it
I almost lost it
I almost risked it
But it takes more than a closed a bridge
To stop this car from moving

The smell of the stage
Fresh Wood
The smell of the cap and gown
Freshly ironed, freshly washed
Climbing those steps to success
Shaking hands with the best
