I floated out in space
And collected the stars
Pouring the Milky Way
Into many, many jars

I came back onto Earth
With the beautiful silver stuff
Put them carefully in my room
I thought it was enough

But somehow,
The stars soon lost their glow
Because it is only in true darkness and space
That they shine bright, and fade slow

I love nature poems because sometimes it is a break and relief of all the emotional stuff. I love your simple lyrics. To me, this poem is a reminiscent of Sara Teasdale and John Keats.

This conveys a message that is SO TRUE! When the stars were in her room, she got used to seeing them, so they seemed less than they actually were. The character almost took advantage of the beauty... Such a great meaning.
