Waiting For Silence

even with my eyes closed
i hear the way you look at me
feel you not wanting me
from anywhere, as long as
you weren't there, had never been
because i dream about the next time
you'll look away, hoping i didn't think anything
past utter loyalty, the kind that
you would kill for, have already,
just the way you told me
i never understood how you decided
who was close enough to live
and if, maybe i was too far away
trying to protect myself from the
brightness of your eyes, would i
die by your hand, that just last night
pressed against my bloody scar
and tried to make me whole again
?
