The sharp knife,
Of betrayal.
The depression,
Of a fail.
The chains
Of debt.
The silence,
Of regret.
Surround, cover, and
Imprison me.
And now,
I see.
I let life,
Pass me by.
I gave up my wings,
When I refused to fly.
I am alone,
Because I didn’t reach out.
I never learned,
What love was about.
My body is intact,
I never took a risk.
My whole life,
I missed.
I hope,
God forgives,
Everybody dies,
But not everyone lives.
