The Storm

Hold my hand and walk with me
Throughout the storm.

The rain stings my skin
But your embrace is warm.

I'll be the damsel letting down my long hair,
You'll be my knight, like the moon: always there.

Admiring your passion, fearing its existence,
Unable to show the slightest resistance.

Fear is a gift, protected by sin,
It shields my heart from the truth that's within.

Listen intently while I tell you my story
Of pain and fear, failure and glory.

And if I am crying when I am through,
Kiss away my tears; bring me closer to you.
