The gift with me now...

The snow falls softly around me
In a gentle blanket of wool around me.
I throw my head back
Listening to the sobbing stories of wind
Catching snowflakes on the tip of my tongue...

I think I was waiting for the world to see me,
Recognize me for the independent woman I am...
Not as the weak, child-luck klutz.

I could legitimately feel the kisses
He drew across my shoulders
Like lion, all teeth and tongue...
I could almost taste those orange flavored words
Swirling along the air around me.

He loved me...
And I am falling for that cliche all over again.
