Eyes and Ears

Walls are only so solid
and windows are only so clear.
Ears cannot be covered
from all the things they wish not to hear.

Doors may stay closed
and curtains will be drawn,
But our eyes can see how vague
the many souls attempt to get along.

In the loudness of the noise
and the stillness of a deaf beating,
We somehow find the courage
to coerce for a leading.

Without the hearing of our ears
and the seeing of our eyes,
we all, as humans,
would never suspect the lies.

I love this poem because I was sitting right next to you when you wrote it and it took less than 5 minutes to write. I couldn't think of something like that in 5 months!!! Awesome job!!!
