My Wish for you, Grandpa
While you were ill and going down hill
I wished you the best, to go to Heaven in a peaceful rest.
My wish came true but left me feeling blue,
So here are my wishes for you:
I wish I had you back
I never wanted that
I wish May had never come around
Then you wouldn’t be in the ground
I wish there was no such thing as dying
Then I wouldn’t be here crying
I wish cancer hadn’t taken over you
That is no life to go through
I wish I hadn’t seen your pain
It made me feel ashamed
I wish you never felt so bad
I know it made you sad
I wish cancer was no longer
Then you would’ve been stronger
I wish your presence to be near
Though you are not physically here
I wish disease hadn’t controlled your last few years
Then I wouldn’t be standing alone in my puddle of tears
