I am me, not you, so don't tell me what to think.

Entranced by the Poisonous Flower

Can you see the rose vine twining,
Around this heart.
Blooming from its perfect bud.
But upon closer inspection,
I see how it isn't a beautiful
Blood red, burgundy rose,
But deep maroon
With hints of weeping black.
I can see
The sharp invisible thorns
Pricking this heart.
I wonder is the person
Feeling a pain in their heart,
Or numbness spread throughout
Caused by the poison of this deadly rose.
Oh, this heart, whose is it?
... ... ...
Ah, no wonder the heart
That has been subdued
By the flower is mine.

The author's comments:
Sometimes people are tricked into love. The feeling of "love" that you feel, may actually be implanted feelings. Sometimes, your feelings are just being manipulated into a falsified love. Where as soon as you realize what happens, and the thorns are removed from your heart. You will bleed away, and cry from the pain of your loss. So be careful when falling in love.
