We walk hand in hand through a field of broken glass
Our feet burn and our hearts glow
as we hold our heads high
somehow proud in this place
the only place that has ever been given to us
a mockery of the world "they" inhabit
made of all the worst they have to give
Our meadow to lie in has tree of cardboard
grass of black thorns, our sky to see goddesses under
drips opaque blue paint from portraits of a "loving God"
This place right now is hell in pastel
but we laugh here and love here, she and I
emotions running rampant outshadow even our flowing blood
as we fall asleep in each other's arms
dreaming - Knowing - that soon we will clear the thorns away
soon we will breath life into thess paper woods
and reveal the truth behind the manmade sky
we will leave this sham of a forest
and enter accepted into their world
we will walk the soft ground beside them
and we will look to the sky with them
to see our sights and theirs
in the same majestic gallery,
harmonious
