Building Bridges
You were my first boyfriend
I was your first kiss
A rocky relationship
Ended early in high school
But stayed close friends
Late night talks
Helping with each other’s problems
Even when your girlfriend disagreed
Sneaking around probably not the best decision
Grew apart because of different paths
We drifted apart but camp back together
Still just as friends
Person trusted with biggest secrets
First person I went to when I needed to talk
You were the first one I told when I got my heart broken
You were there when I felt me world crashing around
I always appreciated it
I believed I was being there for you when you were hurting
I didn’t mean for anything to happen
It was a mistake
I am sorry
I take responsibility for my actions
I am not saying it was all me
I want to at least be civil
Your girlfriend and I have our own problems
But I want us to try and mend the past
There has to be a reason me you Amanda and Violet were together in Spanish
Believe in fate
We were not made to be together forever
But maybe just to be there for each other
Mistakes have been made in the past
This is an apology
And a request to start new
Just friends nothing more
You were my first boyfriend
And no matter what I will always care for you
And just know I will always be
Someone to listen
And a shoulder to lean on when life gets hard
Just know you will never be alone
