All the Keys

December 10, 2011
Whether its foolishness or love
I can't seem to pull away from you.
My lips are weak and my heart is stubborn.
There's nothing that my brain can do.

You brought the sparkle to my eyes,
The same sparkle that looks past your lies.
You brought the softness to my lips,
The same softness that falls for your tricks.

What's the point in changing locks
If I give you all the keys?
What's the point in guarding my heart
If your magic word is please?

I cry but I remember the laughing
'Cause mistakes are supposed to happen.

I never meant to make you the bad guy.
Even if you smile at the pain in my eyes,
Even if you continue to lie,
Even if you run and hide,
Even if you walk away saying goodbye,
I'll always be here in case you turn around,
Waiting for your foot steps to make a sound.

Yeah, I tell 'em you hurt me.
Yeah, they're sick of the story.
But they know the good times as well
And not just our feeling of hell.

I need you to realize
How fast this pain subsides.
I'm left with love
And the memory of that hug.

Do what you want to me,
I'll never care.
Kiss or kill me,
Do what you dare.
Hurt me all you want,
I'll still be here.

In the end, I know you.
I know your good intentions.
So go ahead and ruin this again
'Cause I'm still full of chances.

I'll give you all that's left of me
And maybe even more.
You changed my life forever
And shook me to my core.

Baby, what's the point in changing locks
If I give you all the keys?
What's the point in guarding my heart
If all you gotta say is please?
