The light of innocence

Tears slide down my face
agony rises to my cheeks in red tint.
a hard lump forms in my throat.
my vision is slightly blurred due to the immense amount of tears
filling my eyes.

This can't be happening.

frail ribs cling to my heart, making it harder to breathe.

the thin layer of skin that wraps around my bones
pulls
tighter
against
me

organs.
begin to fail.
