Shining Melody

My fingers dance across the keys
Laying out their own beautiful melody
Who knew fingers could sing?
The little girl in my lap laughs
And claps her hands to the rhythm
She cannot see my fingers
Or the black and white keys they play on
Her world is darkness
But the music shines a light for her
It plays colors through her mind
That she will never truly see
She lays her own small fingers on the piano
Gently, I guide them
Teaching the little girl her own song
Her giggles warm my heart
And fuel my fingers to play once more
She never tires of the songs
Of the escape from her dark world
The music is something she doesn't need to see
Something she can share with the rest of the world
That doesn't require eyes
I cannot give her eyesight
But I can show her the world
Through the notes I play
I will be her light
I will be her hope
I will be her eyes
And play once more, a shining melody

Awe....that's just beautiful...you seem to have such a good heart. I can tell by the writings on your page and the things you say, it's written down that you're a sweetheart. Good job. You always seem to touch my heart.
