what i see
as my lamp flickers
my things left askew
yet i bother not to fix them
winter's whispers approach
the window, centered, cracked open
the ascending heat and fury
left prickles on my skin
the curtains a scary sight
different from before
sounds of haunting things
that bring to me great horror
as i desperately flee
but i'm trapped
within the boundaries
of my thoughts
unblinking eyes let out a scream
the loudest silence
