Breaking free
feeling the Earth’s heartbeat,
breathing in with the wind.
Thunder of the tide,
crashing into the ocean.
Pulled under, like dead weight,
into the murky depths.
Golden rays of the sun
lure me back to the surface.
The sky is water-colored with orange,
as the sea tugs at my feet,
an invisible plea for me to go back in.
The sun has finally given up its throne
to the moon for the night.
Numb to all pain,
heart enraptured in the beauty of the world,
this is all there is right now.
