Sadness is a virus
I watch it plague the hallways
We breathe it in, in every class
We cannot escape it.

Sadness is a virus
Its feeding on our silence
Our eyes all meet with grief
We're connected by its presence.

Sadness is a virus
But Black Death for a few
Help hangs on our fingers
We search for words that don't exist.
