Daddy's Little Girl

Fooled,
by the smile that shines so bright on her face each day.
A smile so strong.
Fighting the tears you wanted to see her shatter away.
Daddy,
you weren’t supposed to make me cry.
You were supposed to be Superman protecting
your little girl with your heart of steel.
Instead,
You cut me with your words.
Traded me for a case of cold beer.
Left me scarred and wounded.
You destroyed me.
Now,
you question where your little girl went…
That little girl grew up with a heart
full of hate towards her father.
