Fighting to find a place
There never seems to be any space
I try to be the best
Meet every challenge as a test

Don’t do as well as I hoped
I guess I’ll find a way to cope
Do better next time I pray
So that somehow I can stay

Fail to meet the demand and
I’ll fall and hit the stone cold land
Every bone may be broken
Not a part of the plan
Better find away to stand up again

The author's comments:
I wrote this poem as a response to my mom. I did poorly in one of my classes and although normally I have straight A's, this grade was really bad. My mom gave me a really hard time about it and said things like I'm never going to get into college or I need to stop doing sports until I fix that grade. It was painful to hear that and I felt helpless so I wrote this poem.
