when i look into your eyes
i see clear illumination
of polished copper
even in this dull room.
pure youth
and innocence
as if any hard times
that have tried to unleash
their choosiest daggers upon you
failed to leave so much as a mark.
flawless
unbridled beauty,
hidden from the rest
of the world.
an aura of happiness
overwhelms me, and
a bashful feeling
touches me ever so slightly.
I am suddenly compelled to
turn my smiling face away
to protect
the sincere truth
you may find in my eyes.
