one day you'll write a poem for me
and you won't really mean to
you'll just be scribbling absent-mindedly
on a piece a paper and suddenly you'll
look down and see it's for me
but you won't send it to me.
one day you'll write a poem for me
because you'll have decided something drastic
about us, has to change and
your soul will be consumed with
thoughts of me and my words and my heart
but you won't send it to me.
one day you'll write a poem for me
you'd better. because I've written
so many poems for you.
