Life's a Game, And Now I'm Losing
I long to be the free spirit I once was
When life was a game to me
Indeed a much more interesting game
Intricate down to the last detail
Patience was key—
Others fell as I rose
Conquered
Simple; concise.
But now it’s complicated
Chaotic
Reality is the hand slapping me square in the face
Innocence abandoned me
Blithe no longer visits me
I fall as others rise
Succumb
Vague; deserted.
