Reprieve

You called to me,
Like an echo,
Vibrating throughout my tattered soul
The colors of your voice haunted me
Like silly pink flowers
And green and blue trees
I couldn’t get you out of my mind
The way you did when I was young
You have always been here
Haven’t you?
My silent muse
You write through me
You’re the faceless being who haunts my dreams
You, sweet, sweet boy…
Who watches over me
Who almost is a man
I feel I could drown in you
Your blue-green-grey-yellow stormy eyes
Swirling with those emotions
That I can see but never read
I love you, Stranger
And I will do anything to keep you
Because you told me that you loved me
And you made me yours
That soft, rainy day in the woods
We bore ourselves
As fleshy and perfect as fresh plucked fruit
You, my Adam…
I, your Eve
And as this woman
So far in love
I split myself in two for you
All for a fresh reprieve…
