Opposing forces pulling from both ends
My hands are bleeding from grasping on so hard
To the rope that is between us
To the rope that I could use to pull you to me
In this game of Tug-of-war we wait
To see whose hands let go first
Who will be free
Of the pain in their hands
Of the pull in their heart
As I tug at the rope, your hands let go
Slowly drifting away
Slowly drifting apart
