Inside My Skin

My heart is racing,

My breathing is nervous.

I am shaking inside my skin,

And I don't know how to stop.

I don't want to close my eyes,

But I don't want to open them.

I'm going to see something,

And it's going to see me.

I clasp my hands over my face,

I can hear someone screaming.

But then I realize,

It's me.

How much longer until this is over?

How much longer until the light comes on?
