I Wonder Now
I wonder now
Indulged deeply into my own curiosity,
What is the most poetic way to die?
To drown,
With the sensation of burning lungs,
Seems much too helpless and dream-like.
To be shot,
With the rush of fear,
Seems much too frantic and brutal.
To burn,
With the warmth of tickling flames,
Seems much too bouncy and rogue.
But to leap from atop a structure,
Seeing people below, rapidly approaching,
The feel of the fall,
And the end of all turmoil.
Is that not the most poetic way to die?
