Darkness

Darkness
Total darkness
No light but somehow some way
You lighted my path
Opened a world I had never seen
A world where happiness coincide with sadness
Where bliss and frustration occur
Although you are my weakness
You are my smile
My golden light
My spirit
Yet you exposed me to the
Darkness
The loneliness
Complete solidarity
And after that
You did nothing more
Now I'm stuck in the darkness
Forever grasping for the edge of the cliff

The author's comments:
This piece was inspired by my journey with God, and my religion. I felt as though I needed to write it in order to understand my relationship with Him and how he affects me and what I feel.
