What’s worse

Wishing you had
I stand frozen
Closing my eyes
Sigh
Open my eyes
You’re standing there
The words tumble out
No stopping now
The look on your face
It kills me
I turn to run
Your hands around my wrist
Holding me back
“It’s not your fault”
I start to cry
You hug me tight
Don’t let me go
I silently beg
It’s happened
Too many times
Picking me up
You start walking
I don’t ask
I don’t care
Anywhere is better
Nothing will be the same
