Hopelessly waiting
She calls filled with hope,
She hangs up ready to mope,
He’s unaware he’s letting her down,
Her smile turned quickly to a frown,
She respects his job,
But he’s starting to act like a snob,
He cancels their plans to work,
He acts like he doesn’t miss her, like a jerk,
When she thinks of old times it makes her cry,
People look at her in pain and wonder why,
She tries to hide the pain with a happy mask,
For her that was an easy task,
An hour and a half seemed like a world away,
She’d give anything for him and one more day,
Him, she would try not to miss,
If she could just have one more kiss,
They used to wrestle in the snow,
If she knew it’d end up like this she wouldn’t have let go,
No text or call,
Makes her wonder if he cares at all,
She should give up and call it quits,
Then loneliness and tears would be in her mist,
They used to talk about marriage and the future,
Now it all seems foggy and unclear,
She wonders if he stayed loyal and true,
If not she has no idea what to do,
